2024 Annual Lot Inspections are Beginning
The annual inspection of lots in Bear Valley’s New Subdivision is starting. BVRI’s volunteer inspectors are looking for compliance with state and county fire safety laws and the New Subdivision’s Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CC&Rs). Learn more about this program on the Forest policies page.
- All dead trees must be removed, whether standing or on the ground.
- Excessive accumulation of branches or duff (pinecones and pine needles) on the ground must be removed.
- The ground within 5 feet of a house must be raked down to mineral earth.
- There should be no branches close to your chimney.
In addition:
- Houses must have a posted address.
- Snowmobiles, ATVs, and other recreational vehicles must be hidden as much as possible.
- Tarps used to cover those and other material must be dark brown, green, or grey.
- Yards must be free of debris.
- Construction material is okay if there’s an active project.
Really bad lots will be turned over to the Sheriff for immediate enforcement. Most others with violations will be reinspected in the fall. If still out of compliance, they will be turned over to the Sheriff.
