Donate Now to Support the Bear Valley Post Office

Do you have a post office box in Bear Valley? Do you have Amazon, FedEx, or other packages sent to the Bear Valley post office or to the Real Estate Office? Do your employees use these services?

Then please consider a donation to help support the running of the post office! No amount is too small — even $25 helps!

Why is the Bear Valley homeowners association asking for this, when the post office services Sky High, Tamarack, and other neighbors too? Well, back in 2018, when the US Postal Service threatened to close our branch, BVRI stepped in. This was supposed to be a temporary measure, but we’ve continued because we view the post office as an important community good. USPS provides only $700 per month in support, and it takes many thousands more than that to provide this important service and pay the salary of our wonderful postmistress, who handles all your mail and packages so reliably and cheerfully.

Although only a small percentage of BVRI members have post office boxes, BVRI devotes a sizable percentage of our budget to its maintenance. The Bear Valley Business Association and other businesses also chip in with generous donations every year, and the California Mountain Resort Company (which owns the Lodge and the resort) give the post office almost-free rent.

As of September 2025, we are around $5,000 in the red beyond our usual donation. We are asking the community — both individuals and businesses — to step up and donate if you can. Help support our wonderful Post Office with a donation of $25-$250 now!
